FAQ - Frequently Asked Question

We have put together some of our customers most frequently asked questions.

1. Does the crew/guides speak English?

grayling curved by AndrzejYes - almost everyone you will meet during your trip to Poland with Pioneer speaks English. You will not have any trouble with communication.

2. How do we get to the San?

Plane is easiest - we will usually pick you up from the airport (Rzeszow) with our comfortable van. On demand or if we can't pick you up we will hire a car for you, that you will drive yourself using a detailed itinerary.

3. What currency should I bring with me?

Easiest is to bring your national currency and exchange it into Zloty on place, but not at the airport! The airport exchange offices have very low rates. Not many places accept credit cards.

6. What about the food and drinks?

No-one ever left hungry - our chef will make sure you eat well. The food is good, home made and always fresh - local dry fliesthe kitchen is always open, so just feel free to make  your tea, coffee or take a bun  or sandwich whenever you like. There is always a fridge full of beers and we have some wine supplies from a private cellar  of our friend. We keep records of alcohol consumed, and we ask you kindly to pay for it at the end of your stay. You can check our usual menu here (pdf file)

7.Where can we get flies from?

We always have several hundred, if not thousand, of beautiful locally tied flies at the lodge, at moderate prices to chose from  The fly tying corner is accessible for everyone - please think about leaving some flytying materials in exchange of what you have used.

8. Who is guiding us?

There is always at least one English speaking guide with a group. Richard is taking care of most of the groups along with Wojtek. When required, Adam and Zbynek help them.  Groups hostedby well known British guides also have one of the local guides with them.

9. Gratuities

Our guides and lodge employees work hard and strive to provide a service beyond a basic fishing trip. All gratuities are pooled and are split equally among the staff unless you stipulate otherwise. 100 zloty per person (about 25 €/£) being a usual tip, make it more or less if you are delighted or unhappy with the service provided.hardy greys

10. Fishing equipment

We have quite a few spare rods at the lodge including some Hardy Greys rods for you to try anytime you want. If you ask us before your trip we might be able to prepare a whole setup for you. The only thing we do not supply are waders. Any day we can drive to our friends tackle shop to buy something you need or even have it delivered to the lodge.
